Rapoport: Mack-to-Falcons Makes Sense

While much of the pre-draft conversation around the Falcons concerns the team trying to move up to No. 1 for Jadeveon Clowney, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport went on air around 2:30 p.m. ET and said that a trade to No. 4 with Cleveland makes sense for the Falcons.

But it wouldn’t be for Clowney. Instead, Rapoport thinks Buffalo LB Khalil Mack would be the target there should he fall there and should the Falcons move up.

Rapoport mentioned that a Falcons source told him that the team thinks Clowney can fit in any system, although it’s been documented during the draft process that a base 4-3 defense seems more of a fit for him, before saying that Mack would be a perfect fit for the Falcons in the hybrid defense they’ll run under Mike Nolan.
