Falcons fifth-round draft pick Ricardo Allen doesn’t lack confidence, even after the standout defensive back from Purdue was tabbed as a third-day pick. It’s easy to see why he would have so much confidence in himself. The 5-foot-9 CB totaled 13 interceptions during his college career – 4 returned for touchdowns – while adding 2 second-team All-Big Ten selections to his resume.
Allen has had a number of tweets this week in regard to being considered a late-round pick, including this one:
“If you never have bad times. You will never know what good times are! No one ever said it was going to be easy.”
It looks like he has embraced his “sleeper” label and the work it is going to require to become a great NFL defensive back.
